Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty: Community Giveback Program

Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty is proud to announce a year-long project and community out-reach program to benefit those who are less fortunate during these unprecedented times.  Every month Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty’s agents will individually donate a portion of their property sales which the brokerage will match dollar-for-dollar.  “We are thrilled to have 100% participation on behalf of our thirty-eight full-time agents,” says co-owner Paul Leys.

Follow along as we update our recipients each month:

January 2021: Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Community Center.⁠  The MLK Community Center fights hunger, promotes health, educates young and school-aged kids, supports families, and engages seniors all across Newport County, Rhode Island.

February 2021: Lucy's Hearth offers emergency and transitional shelter with programs that foster independence and help mothers gain necessary life skills to prevent chronic homelessness.

March 2021: The Women's Resource Center offers leading domestic violence prevention through the empowerment of individuals and the community by providing advocacy, education and support services.

April 2021: The Seamen's Church Institute strives to protect, preserve & enhance local maritime culture by providing education, hospitality, and a safe haven for those who work, live & play on or by the sea⁠.

May 2021: The Salvation Army embraces the homeless, uplifts the abused or abandoned, trains and mentors the disadvantaged, provides character building programs for youth, and assists the displaced or elderly. The Salvation Army's goal remains the same: serving the most people, meeting the most needs, DOING THE MOST GOOD!

June 2021: Newport Mental Health provides counseling and psychiatric therapy services to children, adolescents, families, and adults who are experiencing problems with mental illness, substance abuse or stress in their lives. Their person-centered recovery approach to care offers individuals a chance to achieve a better quality of life and recovery from emotional illness.⁠⁠

July 2021: The mission of The Boys and Girls Club of Newport County is to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need help most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.⁠

August 2021: Housing Hotline - The mission of the Housing Hotline is to assist individuals in Newport County stay in their homes or to find affordable housing.⁠⁠. Contact the Housing Hotline directly if you or someone you know is in need of shelter: 401.846.4896⁠⁠

October 2021: Meals on Wheels of RI - The mission of @mealsonwheelsri is to assist homebound Rhode Island seniors stay healthy, safe and happy at home. Since 1969, the organization has worked to alleviate food insecurity and social isolation among at-risk older adults. 

September 2021: The Star Kids Scholarship Program - The mission of @starkidsnewportfallriver is to provide educational opportunities in the form of tuition aid to effective non-public schools, uniforms, after-school and summer programs, tutoring and mentoring for those high risk, low-income children who have a parent with a history of incarceration and/or substance abuse. ⁠⁠

November 2021:

- The mission of @aquidneckcommunitytable is to build a healthy and sustainable food system to serve every Aquidneck Islander. Every gift sustains their programing, strengthens our local economy, and contributes to a healthier island future. ⁠

December 2021: Child and Family Services - The mission of @childandfamilyri is to assist strengthens families by providing services to thousands of children, teens, families and elders.
