A Day In The Life Of...

As one of Gustave White’s top selling agents, Michelle Drum has created a niche for herself within the Newport real estate market.  Though her work takes her throughout Rhode Island, Michelle has become an expert in selling historic homes in Newport.  She is a fashionista, historian and lover of all things eccentric, eclectic and unique, but above all, she lives the work she breathes.  Located in the heart of the historic district you can find the Drum’s home.Michelle and her husband, along with their greyhound, Athena, live in an 18th-century schoolhouse on the National Register of Historic Places.  The Georgian style “Trinity School House” was erected in 1798 and then converted into the Shiloh Baptist Church in 1860.  The Drums have lovingly restored the property and created a stunning jewel box of a home.  Their current guest bedrooms have been transformed from former school rooms and the former choir loft is now a splendid master bedroom suite.  The Drum’s always welcome former parishioners into their home, happy to hear them sing their praises. What is it like to live in a church/school house?  Following along with "A Social Life" as the Mele’s - Nick, Molly and little Johnnie highlight Michelle’s beautiful home.Photo by Nick Mele
