NEWPORT, RI (July 26, 2021) – Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty is pleased to announce the sale of “Honeysuckle Lodge” at 225 Ruggles Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island. An exquisite c1886 design by the renowned architectural firm Peabody & Stearns, the 10,530 sf residence is sited on over two acres of Olmsted grounds with sweeping lawns and access to the water. A separate 4,000 sf carriage house with two apartments, greenhouse, and garage complete the gated compound.

This sale represents the highest sale price of a residential property in Newport County this year and the third highest in Rhode Island. Paul Leys, listing broker and co-owner of Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty stated, "Honeysuckle Lodge is an exemplary Newport estate. The original Peabody & Stearns design holds through to today's buyers, displaying superb detailing while allowing for a comfortable lifestyle. I’m so happy to have represented the sellers for this luxury home transaction, the highest sale occuring in Newport County since we represented the sellers on the sale of a 4+ acre property on Indian Avenue last August.”
