NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND (December 29, 2020) – Gustave White Sotheby’s International Realty announced the sale of historic estate ‘Ker Arvor’ for $7,300,000, located at 275 Harrison Avenue in Newport, Rhode Island by Kate Kirby Greenman and Michelle Kirby. Kate Leonard and Kendra Toppa of Lila Delman Real Estate represented the sellers on this transaction.
‘Ker Arvor’ is an exceptional manor in the pristine, museum-quality condition set on 9.1 acres off Ocean Drive near Newport Country Club. French for littoral or seaside, ‘Ker Arvor’ was derived from the rest camp for Allied Forces in the pine forest of Pexonne near the town of Badonvillier in Lorraine, France. The Harrison Avenue property is described as a historic U-shaped Louis XV Revival House modeled after La Lanterne, Versailles, built from 1931-1933 as the summer home of Snowden Andrews Fahnestock (1886-1962) by renowned architects Clinton & Russell of New York.

The sale of this historic property is the fourth highest sale in Newport this year. Paul Leys, co-owner of Gustave White Sotheby's International Realty, stated, “There have been 14 sales in Newport for over $3 million this year. In the same period in 2019, there were only four sales in this price range. For Newport County, as a whole, this year there were 35 sales for over $3 million, as opposed to twelve for last year.”
